BEDROOM 1
The only bedroom located on the first floor, Bedroom 1 is a private retreat with soaring ceilings and expansive windows that overlook the meadows and gardens at the back of the house.
At its heart is a handcrafted tigerwood bedroom set from the 1870s, complemented by a full-sized bed dressed in luxurious linens. Original inlaid hardwood floors and intricate woodwork enhance the room’s historic charm, while modern touches—like a walk-in closet and a Samsung Frame TV—ensure comfort and convenience.
Elegant yet welcoming, Bedroom 1 offers the perfect balance of period character and contemporary ease.
Luxury Linens
We don’t do cheap around here. We use only the highest quality linens in all of our rooms – and have optional feather beds, your choice of pillows, and mattress toppers to ensure your bed gives you the best possible sleep and relaxation experience.
Samsung Frame TV
What good is an escape if you can’t binge-watch all of your favorite shows? We’ve equipped every room with a Samsung Frame. That means you can choose to display artwork and forget the TV is even there, or you can keep LOST, The Sopranos, and/or Breaking Bad going all night. Those are the only shows we allow. Just kidding.
Walk-In Closet
A highly unusual feature original to the house is the abundance of walk-in closets. Every room has at least one. In the 2 larger bedrooms, we’ve transformed them into small dressing rooms, and have an additional walk-in for all of your stuff.
1929 Grafitti
Bedroom 1 features one of the coolest artifacts in the house. When we removed the original wallpaper, we discovered that the paper hangers signed their names and the date on the wall before they papered over it. We preserved it and put a little frame around it so you can see it for yourself!
1860s Bedroom Suite
The bedroom furniture in bedroom 1 was given to us by a wonderful family whose grandparents built in back in the 1860s. We have a QR code you can scan in the room that will tell you the whole story of this very special suite of furniture.
Garden View
Bedroom 1 is flooded with light from its 2 huge windows. You also get a great view of the back yard, velodrome and parks beyond our property.
